About the event
This year continues to be a year of fatigue for many people as we continue to deal with the uncertainties of Covid, while also trying to reengage with the world. Sponsored by St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Richmond, this quiet day will provide an opportunity to slow down, reflect on life, and (re)clarify personal and professional priorities.
The structure of the day is very simple. We…
· gather in a circle in comfortable lounge chairs – focus our personal intentions for the day
· listen to some poetry – to help us to slow down
· spend most of the day in silence – do whatever we (individually) are drawn to - walk, rest, journal, read, allow thoughts and feelings to percolate.
· Reconvene late in the afternoon to share what’s been emerging during the day – what is becoming clearer and what questions we are still sitting with
The quiet day has an implicit contemplative spirituality, which is not specific to a particular religion. Persons of any faith (or none) find they can engage.
This is a technology free day – we ask you not to use mobile phones, tablets, or computers.
We invite a donation of $50 (or what you can afford). BYO LUNCH. PLEASE RSVP to Michael Wood at St Stephen's Anglcan Church.
